More electrifying than ever: travel through the Grosser Garten on an electric train and then go on a guided tour through the new world of electric mobility.
When night falls in Dresden, the Grosser Garten, with the exception of its main avenues, also sinks into darkness and the city park that is so lively during the day falls silent. Once a year, over 300 colourful lights illuminate the almost two square kilometre area and the whole park is filled with vibrant life for the evening lights ride on the park railway on 8 and 9 September 2017. While the train tickets for the 9 September can be purchased as normal over the counter (where you can usually expect long queues), the PREMIUM evening lights offer on Friday 8 September allows you to simply reserve in advance and combine the ride with special culinary or activity options.
You then reserve a set numbered seat and can also select your preferred departure time. The
5.6-kilometre journey cannot only be taken with the historical steam engine, but also with very clean electric power.
All PREMIUM evening lights tickets come with a partner offer. You can choose between a visit to the Gläserne Manufaktur or an ultraviolet light golf match on the crazy golf course at the Torwirtschaft restaurant and three culinary packages: a two-course menu at e-VITRUM – the new restaurant in the Gläserne Manufaktur, appetisers from an étagère accompanied by a refreshing aperitif at the Carola-Schlösschen restaurant or a rustic barbecue buffet at the Torwirtschaft. If you are lucky, you may still get a ticket for the torchlight tour, which is particularly popular with children. Setting out at 8 pm, an expert guide will lead you through the night-time Grosser Garten for an hour.
You can book the combined tickets for the PREMIUM evening lights on 8 September online from home. Payment is in advance. The tickets will be sent to you by post in time before the start of the event.
