Riga, Tel Aviv, Zurich – young companies from every corner of Europe are coming to the Future Mobility Incubator at the Gläserne Manufaktur. The following start-ups have already been through our six-month support program.
The Fifth Class
May 2020 through November 2020
DENKweit is a spin-off company of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft based in Halle/Saale. They combine innovative sensor technology with self-developed, machine-learning algorithms for data evaluation. In the automotive environment, batteries for electric vehicles can thus be qualitatively tested down to the individual cell.
VRENDEX from Chemnitz digitally maps physical vehicle prototypes and products, for example for training employees. The company uses Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR) and 360° technologies. Partner at Volkswagen: The Volkswagen Educational Institute based in Zwickau.
Sustify from Berlin is a web-based learning app for factories in Asia. It helps to ensure that global supply chains remain legally compliant. The goal: to sensitize workers in a playful way that they know, understand and comply with defined social and environmental standards for health and fire protection. The special thing: The app is also aimed at illiterate people.
The London company ev.energy wants to make the charging of purely electric vehicles more environmentally friendly, cheaper and easier. This is made possible by a software that keeps an eye on the energy market and thus finds the cheapest time for charging green electricity. As part of the Future Mobility Incubator, a pilot project is planned with Elli, a subsidiary of Volkswagen.
The use of smartphones while driving is a major safety risk. This is what KarChing is aiming at. The US start-up from Chicago works with insurance companies and focuses primarily on young novice drivers. Prudent, safe and smartphone free driving is rewarded with a social platform.

AVILOO
Aviloo from Vienna is in the process of developing a diagnosis system for batteries for electric vehicles. The health status of the battery can be assessed quickly and cheaply during a short test drive. By doing so, the founders aim to provide a basis for stable resale prices for electric vehicles. https://aviloo.com

The B2B start-up from Stuttgart specialises in smart living solutions. Its platform means that industries and companies, such as car manufacturers, can be involved in networked life and the Internet of Things. Furthermore, home-iX makes smart ecosystems compatible with one another (smart home, smart energy, smart services). This is done by using an integration platform based on artificial intelligence and a uniform interface for existing digital ecosystems. https://home-ix.com
Kopernikus
The Berlin start-up Kopernikus develops solutions for automated driving. Its mission: to complement today’s production vehicles with a range of automated driving functions as quickly as possible. They aim to achieve this by bundling global self-driving software solutions onto one platform. The technology is manufacturer-specific, the software is adapted to the vehicle models and local conditions. The first usable solution is Kopernikus’ own development and is based on artificial intelligence. It is paving the way to fully autonomous vehicles: Kopernikus is already capable of enabling cars to drive autonomously on private premises – for example on factory premises, for loading or in workshops. https://www.kopernikusauto.com
LiGenium
LiGenium develops, manufactures and sells machine elements, machines and complete systems using renewable materials. The start-up from Chemnitz uses high-quality wood-based materials for light, robust and environmentally friendly applications in conveyor technology, including modular loading systems for the automotive industry. https://www.ligenium.de
NAVENTIK
The Chemnitz start-up Naventik is active in satellite navigation for highly automated and autonomous driving. Its goal is to overcome the technological boundaries of traditional satellite navigation receivers and to guarantee precise localisation in urban areas through innovative software algorithms. https://www.naventik.de
Visualix
Visualix from Berlin is an expert in image processing. It enables mapping and localisation on standard smartphones accurate to the centimetre. https://www.visualix.com

Zouzoucar
This start-up from France is developing an innovative app that facilitates ride-pooling for children. A single service coordinates rides to school, sport clubs, and birthday parties. The children are driven by people who are known and trusted. The aim of this safe transportation solution is to relieve parents of unnecessary driving, and to save money and especially time.
CarPay Diem
Young entrepreneurs from Luxembourg have developed a platform that allows drivers with any mobile app or connected car to activate pumps at fuel stations and pay from inside their vehicles. In return, fuel stations can send targeted offers that encourage drivers to enter the shops at those stations and make additional purchases. CarPay Diem’s platform is already compatible with more than ten thousand fuel stations in the Benelux countries.
carVertical
For leasing agencies, insurance companies, and private car owners, this blockchain-based solution from a Lithuanian start-up compiles vehicle history information from different sources into a single register. It provides fraud-proof documentation of mileage levels and any accidents. Car values increase when owners can show confirmed histories.
Make My Day
This start-up from Israel is developing a digital personal assistant that plans the best possible routes for drivers. It includes stops such as charging points for electric vehicles and shops for daily errands, thereby saving both time and money.
Go To-U
Go To-U connects drivers of electric cars with hotels, restaurants, and cafés that have charging facilities. This Ukrainian start-up is planning to further develop its innovative booking system for charging stations in Dresden. The platform allows e-car drivers to book charging stations at low-peak times and manage payments. It also enables users to reserve tables and rooms.
ToporAuto
This start-up from Russia is developing a service that uses acceleration sensors and automotive GPS data to monitor and analyze road surface quality. Municipal road and traffic authorities, car manufacturers, and digital map services will then be able to use this data.

ChargeX
ChargeX from Munich is developing an innovative charging infrastructure for the private and semi-public sector. Charging points can be added to its modular system via a plug & play approach, and it also provides intelligent control of charging processes. Its guiding principle consists of load management that substantially reduces costs per charging point as well as installation investment.
S O NAH
This start-up develops image-processing sensors for streets. The system can be used for purposes such as avoiding parking problems or reducing streetlamp energy needs.
Novum
This young company from Dresden is developing a software-based automated mobile battery lab. It uses artificial intelligence to more accurately gauge and maximize battery service life and vehicle range.
embotech
The Swiss company Embotech was launched to develop a software for autonomous driving applications. Its solutions perform motion planning calculations in real time – based on the physical properties of the vehicles. No comprehensive vehicle training or pre-programming is needed, which means the vehicles can react fully autonomously to their environments. Embotech’s software can be integrated into both cars and the infrastructure. One idea is to enable vehicles to drive autonomously between a plant’s assembly and logistics areas, with the ability to react to moving obstacles.
EcoG
This start-up is developing an IoT operating system with an open API for e-vehicle charging infrastructures. EcoG is the name of the software that connects users, vehicles, and infrastructures with businesses and services to enable added-value services. EcoG was recently a successful participant in the Techstars Mobility Accelerator in Detroit.

CarlundCarla.de
This team from Dresden is already enjoying business success with its rental platform for vans and small buses. An expanded corporate carsharing service is expected to give private customers access to the fleet as well, thus optimally exploiting unused potential. The aim is to achieve maximum use of a broad range of services.
Geospin
This spin-off from the Smart City Research Group at the University of Freiburg calculates customer behavior related to geographical data. Examples of applications for Dresden include finding ideal locations for charging stations and carsharing services.
Smart City System
This start-up developed a sensor system that registers parking spot use in real time. The system helps drivers find available parking spaces, thereby shortening tedious searches and reducing congestion in city centers.
LoyalGo
The young founders of LoyalGo want to accelerate the installation of charging stations for electric cars by working together with local retailers. They developed a bonus system for retailers that is funded by ads on the charging stations (“digital advertising pillars”).
ekoio
This telematics start-up has already developed an intelligent assistance system that provides individual drivers, insurance companies, carsharing companies, and fleet customers with key data on driving habits, and rewards fuel-conscious performance with bonuses. One of its aims is to reduce fuel consumption.
ONO
This company is developing a new type of electric cargo pedelec with weather-protected transport capacities. It is designed primarily for short-distance package deliveries, and should also be able to operate autonomously.
