VW Gläserne Manufaktur | Picking Up Your Car at the GMD: How to Book It

If you would like to collect your new car at the Gläserne Manufaktur, it is best to book it at the same time you sign your contract with the dealer, who will be happy to advise you on the selection of the most appropriate package and make a suitable offer. You can pick up the following models in Dresden:

all fully electric models:

e-up! (combined power consumption in kWh/100 km: 12,7; combined CO₂ emissions in g/km: 0; efficiency class: A+. The e-up! cannot be ordered with individual equipment at the moment.)
all ID. Models

Should you decide to pick up your car in Dresden at a later point, your dealer will gladly check if the production status of your new car can accommodate this.

Your dealer will also arrange the specific pickup date with you. This is only possible once the car is ready and the release on the production side has a 10-working-day lead time.

The car pickup offer is valid from Monday through Saturday. You can experience the final assembly live from Monday to Friday.

Out of consideration for your and our health, we have adapted the processes to the prescribed protection and hygiene measures. For this reason, wearing mouth and nose protection is obligatory in our company. Thank you very much for your understanding.

You can choose from four different packages that accommodate a wide variety of preferences and interests*:

D1 Basic. (bookable for all of the above vehicles except ID. family) - The package includes:
- 1 transfer within the city of Dresden to the Gläserne Manufaktur
- Free parking in the visitors’ parking lot
- Greeting in the exclusive customer area
- Free experience tour through the production and exhibit halls (for up to 4 personswithin the scope of a group tour)
- Personalized car handover by a product expert
- Opportunity for a test drive in an e-car (depending on availability)
- A 50-euro meal voucher for the restaurant
- 10% discount on articles in the Manufaktur shop
- Individual travel service (addition to the experience program in Dresden)
- Free charging at the e-Mobility Station (CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2)
D2 Plus. With overnight stay (bookable for all of the above vehicles except ID. family) - The package includes:
- 1 night in a double room with breakfast/ hotel**** for 2 persons (Extra bed for children if necessary at extra charge on request)
- 1 transfer within the city of Dresden to the Gläserne Manufaktur
- Free parking in the visitors’ parking lot
- Greeting in the exclusive customer area
- Free experience tour through the production and exhibit halls (for up to 4 persons within the scope of a group tour)
- Personalized car handover by a product expert (30 mins.)
- Opportunity for a test drive in an e-car (depending on availability)
- A 50-euro meal voucher for the restaurant
- 10% discount on articles in the Manufaktur shop
- Individual travel service (addition to the experience program in Dresden)
- Free charging at the e-Mobility Station (CCS, CHAdeMO, Type 2)
D3. (can only be booked for all models of the ID. family) - The package includes:
- inner-city transfer to the Transparent Factory | free parking
- Welcome Lounge | non-alcoholic beverages
- Guided tour through the Transparent Factory incl. Combi-Ticket Dresden
- Vehicle handover with introduction to the vehicle
- 10% discount for shopping in the manufactory shop
- CO2-neutral collection ID**
- Charge up - invitation to a refreshment in the restaurant e-VITRUM

The packages described above can be changed once without charge up to five days before the pickup date.

* Note: The offers only apply to customers whose new vehicle will be registered in Germany.

Show delivery for customers whose new vehicle will not be registered in Germany***

If you will not be registering your new car in Germany, we offer you the option of a show delivery, which will allow you to enjoy all the amenities of a normal delivery. The only difference is that your vehicle will subsequently be transported by truck to its country of registration.
