Visitor increase in Volkswagen’s Gläserne Manufaktur

Volkswagen’s Gläserne Manufaktur attracted more visitors in 2018 than in the previous year.

Around 135,500 people visited the factory in Dresden – an increase of 32 percent compared with 2017, when the Manufaktur welcomed 103,000 visitors. “A significant increase in the number of visitors as well as more than 220 events and 4,700 test drives in the e-Golf* show that the interest in e-mobility is continuing to grow,” said plant director Lars Dittert. After tours in English, tours carried out in Chinese and Russian were particularly in demand. While vehicles from the I.D. family were exhibited in 2018, starting in February 2019 the SEDRIC, which is the prototype of an electric and self-driving concept vehicle, will be making a guest appearance.
