Opening Hours and Directions

Find out about our wide range of guided tours, opening hours, directions and parking options, or request a date for your visit here.

After the restart of the vehicle handover on 20th of April 2020 and the restart of production on 27th of April 2020, the Transparent Factory is now opening its doors to visitors again.

We have made intensive use of the past few weeks to make the Transparent Factory a fun place to visit by a wide margin and in compliance with the general regulations and hygiene rules.

The alternative visit concept includes a guided tour of the production and experience world and a digital experience tour, recognisable by the orange dots. In addition, a completely newly created area awaits you - the ID. Store.

Out of consideration for your and our health, we are unfortunately unable to offer guided tours through the production or test drives for the time being. Also our specials like e-Kids or e-taste cannot be booked at the moment. Furthermore the entire guest program is only available in German. We will inform you about new languages as soon as possible. The length of stay is limited to one hour. Many thanks for your understanding.

Overview of guided tours
How to get to the Gläserne Manufaktur

Adress:
Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH
DIE GLÄSERNE MANUFAKTUR
Lennéstraße 1
01069 Dresden

Parking when arriving by car

If you are visiting the Gläserne Manufaktur or the e-VITRIUM restaurant, you can park for free in our visitors’ parking lot. This is located on Lennéstrasse and is easy to reach if you are driving from the direction of Lennéplatz. If you are arriving from the other direction, please note that Lennéstrasse is divided by a track bed that cannot be crossed to enter the visitors’ parking lot. For this reason, we recommend using Blüherstrasse to access the parking lot from this direction. Click here to view or download a detailed map.

Real-time display of the occupancy of our parking lot and e-mobility station

Thanks to a sensor system developed and expanded by the young company Smart City System from Nuremberg during its stay in our start-up incubator, you can see in advance whether the visitor car park currently has free spaces.

If the visitor parking lot is not available due to high demand, please park alternatively either in the shopping center SP1 (opposite the Transparent Factory) or in the area of Lingnerallee/Blüherstraße. However, these parking spaces are subject to charges.

Right of way and parking options for busses

Busses can stop briefly in front of the Gläserne Manufaktur (Lennéstrasse) to allow passengers to get on and off. Otherwise, parking is available on Blüherstrasse, which runs parallel to Lennéstrasse. Click here to view or download a detailed map.

Arrival by public transport:

You can reach the Gläserne Manufaktur on tram lines 1, 2, 4, 10, 12 and 13; the stop is called Strassburger Platz/Gläserne Manufaktur. There is also a stop for the hop-on/hop-off bus tours of Dresden directly in front of the Gläserne Manufaktur.
