Anniversary concert on the Cockerwiese
Plácido Domingo will perform at the 10th CLASSICAL PICNIC
Die Gläserne Manufaktur and the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden can look back over a successful ten-year partnership. They will be celebrating in style on 17 June with the anniversary edition of the CLASSICAL PICNIC. Plácido Domingo, the Spanish opera singer and conductor, will perform for around 8000 classical music lovers.
The CLASSICAL PICNIC programme includes highlights from the opera and concert repertoire. Plácido Domingo will open the evening with Verdi's Overture to "La forza del destino" followed by Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto in B minor. It also features the "Carmen" Suite No. 1 by Georges Bizet, "Story of Our Town" for piano and orchestra by Aaron Copland, and ends with "Capriccio Italy" by Tchaikovsky.
