At Dresden’s largest public solar-powered e-mobility station at Die Gläserne Manufaktur - available 24/7!
Since April 2017, drivers of e-models are provided with two quick charging stations with four charging points in the visitor parking area at "Die Gläserne Manufaktur". The charging points, protected by a carport that is modeled after the architecture of "Die Gläserne Manufaktur", are publicly accessible and are free of charge for the time being. And, of course, parking is also free while the vehicles are being charged.
Electricity is generated and directly fed in by six photovoltaic panels that measure 22 sq m each (capacity of 25 kWp) and that are located on the lawn right outside "Die Gläserne Manufaktur". The charged vehicle is thus CO2 neutral.
Any excess energy will be stored temporarily in a long-life battery (redox-flow battery) with a capacity of 130 kWh or fed into the site grid of the GMD. Advantages of the battery are its extremely high efficiency, as well as an extremely long life.
